Munich International School

Munich International School is a lovely school placed in beautiful surroundings, with the stunning Starnberger See only a ten minute walk away. Although this charming location does come with a price as the school is hard to access via public transport. However, the school does have ample parking spaces and a very good school bus network.
In terms of academia, the school has set a high standard. The staff are all very qualified and very good at working with children. MIS offers the International Baccalaureate program which is very respected by universities worldwide. The only complaint I would give in terms of schooling would be that the mood can be too easy going and for certain students this can hinder their progress.
The sports program is also of top quality with good coaching staff and a wide array of different sports. MIS tends to place highly at International School meets in all sports.
Facilities offered are excellent and constantly improved, the school has recently built a new building as well as a state of the art running track. The cafeteria has also recently been developed, although the food does receive many a complaint from students.
Overall I would say that I am very happy about choosing MIS for my children. I think that it is a fantastic school with excellent facilities which helped develop my children.

I was a teacher for many years in MIS and my two daughters studied there too. The dedication of teachers is extraordinary and the education the students receive prepares them for the the present world as it gives them a holistic education, where knowledge, skills and values are interrelated with and important touch of critical thinking and international mentality. My daughters still thank us this opportunity they had in their lives and that is being so helpful in their work life but also as a global citizen.

Non – selective school that constantly produces a high IB average, graduates get accepted at very good colleges in the US and UK.
Beautiful campus, dedicated teaching staff, ambitious athletics and after school programme, great transportation system.

Good school located in a beautiful area outside of Munich. Good facilities and very good teachers.

To put it simply, this is by far the best international school I’ve ever been to. After moving around a lot while growing up I can easily say that this is the golden standard. Beautiful and large campus with state-of-the-art facilities. Excellent curriculum and teaching standards. The student body could be a bit more diverse since it is primarily made up of German nationals, but then again this is to be expected. My only regret is not spending more years in this great school.

The school itself is in an idyllic setting surrounded by farmland and lots of trees However about 30Km. south of Munich. We lived hf way between the city and the school and it was ok.
It’s a fairly big campus and, the language of education is English. Many of the teachers are from the UK, USA and so on and the quality of English spoken by the students is amazing. Most of my colleagues after learning English in school and working with English speaking colleagues for years, cannot compare to the level at which the high school students are at, when it comes to language.

The surroundings are great and, they have a good balance between academics and extra curricular activities. My kids loved going there and in my opinion, would be a good indicator of the quality of education on offer.
