INTRODUCTION TO The Academy International School
The Academy International School – Senior School is an international school in Mallorca for children aged 12 to 18. The school has two locations on the island, only 3 km apart: the Junior School, which follows the National Curriculum of England and Wales, and the Senior School for Secondary, where students can continue their education up to the IGCSE examination level and complete this with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
LOCATION / CAMPUS
The campus was inaugurated in 2020 and is located in Marratxí. It is a small municipality 15-minute drive from Palma, the principal city and seaport of Mallorca.
The Senior Campus offers several sports facilities, including paddle courts, basketball courts, a closed multi-sports field, a soccer field, two swimming pools, two completed laboratories, and themed classrooms.
CURRICULUM / AGES (GRADES)
The Academy International School Senior Campus offers the following:
Year 7 to year 9: students follow the British educational system, including the compulsory subjects of the Spanish system -sciences, humanities, creative subjects, and languages.
Year 10 and Year 11: students prepare for the IGCSEs, and at the end of Year 11, they take the IGCSE examinations. The IGCSE certificates enable them to continue into the IB Diploma Programme or equivalent pre-university qualification.
Year 11 and Year 13: students prepare for university and course the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme with subjects from languages, the arts, humanities, maths and sciences.

Extra Languages: Spanish, Catalan, French and German.
Language Support: The school offers supplementary English as Additional Language courses.

Enrolment period: Enrolment takes place in April. However, if places are available, places are offered throughout the school year.

Admission criteria: The Academy International School – Senior Campus considers academic achievement and ability, and applicants must provide school reports and contact details of the previous school, have an informal interview, and a written test in English and mathematics.
