IB Diploma Results – Singapore Class of 2020

IB Diploma Results 2020

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma is highly respected and valued by universities, and it is known for its rigorous courses and grading system.

There are two exam sessions per year, usually scheduled for May and November.

However, last year the coronavirus pandemic struck and the IB was one of the first organisations to call off the diploma examination in May 2020.

In the absence of the examination, the Swiss-based IB Organization (IBO) announced a system for awarding final grades based on the student’s coursework throughout the two-year program, predicted grades provided by affiliated schools, and historic assessment data.

When the results were released on 5th July, many students and families reported that their final grades were nowhere near their predicted grades. 700 out of the 3,020 schools receiving results from the May 2020 session submitted a review request on behalf of their students. After reviewing and analysing the information from schools, IB decided on an adjustment to the awarded results for the DP and CP May 2020 session.
