Astor International School is a boutique international primary school in Singapore that educates children 5 to 12 years old (Years 1-7). Astor school fees start from 14,900 a year. Astor has a unique concept of offering parents the flexibility to decide how much time their child spends in school. Astor concentrates its core curriculum into four hours and allows you to customise the rest of the day to suit your family and your child. Students can leave school at 1 pm each day, stay for lunch, and/or attend one of our many ECAs in areas like art, music, drama, sports, foreign languages, and many more. The fees for our ECAs are flexible too. You can pay for them per term for a single class or purchase a full-week ECA package with all classes included.

Founded in 2019, Astor aims to provide quality, affordable education in a nurturing environment that develops life-long learners with a passion for knowledge. Astor is a small community-based school located in Tanglin. 

The campus occupies one floor and has two outdoor play spaces. All classrooms are bright and spacious. Class sizes of a maximum of 20 students per class benefit children by giving them individualized approaches and attention.

INTRODUCTION TO Astor International School

Astor International School is a private, international school in Singapore that offers full-time courses for primary-age students (ages 5 to 12) based on the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and the world-renowned Singapore Maths and English curricula.

LOCATION / CAMPUS

The school is located in the centre of Singapore, at Tanglin Road and it is easily accessible by both car (minutes drive from Orchard Road) and public transportation.

CURRICULUM / AGES (GRADES)

At Astor, the curriculum features the enquiry-based International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and the Singapore Maths and English.

Course Level Age of students at the beginning of the Academic year:

MILEPOST 1

Pre-Primary  (Year 1): 5 years old

Primary 1 (Year 2): 6 years old

LANGUAGES

Language of Instruction: English.

Extra Languages:  French, Mandarine, Russian (school offers any foreign language that has a demand of at least 4 students).

Language Support:  All students have access to English as a Second Language (ESL) Support.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

The school’s main curriculum runs until 1pm, followed by optional extracurricular activities (ECAs) to 3pm. ECAs include Art, Music, Dance, Nutrition Kitchen, lego Land, Coding, Sports (Football, Basketball, Tennis and Swimming), Drama, Board Games and Foreign Languages.

Admission criteria:  Submitted applications will be reviewed by the Enrolments Team. Some applicants may be invited to sit for an English Language proficiency assessment, and all students are invited for an interview before the enrolment.

LEARNING SUPPORT

Yes. Astor International School has developed a Student Support System to provide the time, support and resources needed.  To identify the scope of support needed for each student, it is required full cooperation between parents, school and outside specialists. Support fees vary from SG$500 to SG$4,500 per month, depending on the scope of support needed.

Astor International School was opened to the first students in August of 2019. We are currently in our 4th academic year.

Q What nationalities are the staff and students?

We are a multicultural school, with staff and students from all nationalities and cultural backgrounds. We have over 20 nationalities among our students. We do not have any dominant nationality. Every culture is celebrated at Astor.

Q What age can students start at Astor?

We take students from 5 years old. Our academic year runs from mid-August to mid-June.

Fixed fees $18,500 a year
Stay until 3pm every day! ECAs five days a week are included in the fee. You can choose which ECAs to attend.


Material fee $150 per year. Uniform (polo shirt with Razum logo) $25 per set.
ECAs $10-40 per class (optional). ESL $250-1,000 per month (optional). Student Support is also available at $500-4,500 per month (depending on the scale of support needed).
One-time admission fee SGD $1,700.

Maximum 20 students per class.
One of our most important values is individual attention; therefore, our class size is small to allow teachers to give individual attention to students.
Your child will benefit from individual attention and a low teacher-student ratio that allows teachers to offer personalised education and adjust lessons to students’ needs.

Q What support does Astor offer for student whose English is a Second Language (ESL) or Student with Specific Needs (SSN)?

Astor provides Student Support for ESL students and students with specific needs. The support is based on assessments and discussed with parents when necessary.

Q Does my child need to wear a school uniform?

Students are required to wear a white Razum polo shirt, at $25 per shirt, which can be combined with comfortable shorts, skirt, leggings, or trousers. We encourage all students to wear closed shoes (no flip flops).

Q Does Astor provide Student visa for my child?

No, Astor is not able to facilitate student visa/pass at this time.
