Dover Court International School is an international school in Singapore. Founded in 1972 the school is located on a spacious green campus in the heart of Singapore.
Dover Court is an international school community with 1650 students from over 60 nationalities, between the ages of 3 to 18. Dover Court is an inclusive school that offers a curriculum based on the English National Curriculum but is modified to create a transferable education suitable for children who may need to move to another city or country.
This structured learning is provided by the Nord Anglia Education curriculum. Dover Court, as a Nord Anglia Education school, is part of a family of 66 international schools, boarding schools, and private schools around the world.
The school offers a range of IGCSE courses in Secondary school. Additionally, the school offers some alternative courses focused on life skills and employability through ASDAN programs and vocational qualifications.
For students in Years 12 and 13 Dover Court International School also offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and from August 2020 the International BTEC Level 2 in Business. This two-year vocational course offers students an alternative path to the world of work by developing skills that are needed for employment.
At Dover Court International School, the level of support provided depends on each individual student’s needs. They have structured the support into three learning pathways. These learning pathways are not fixed and students can move between them depending on how much support they need.
Pathway 1 – The mainstream pathway. Students may also access short-term support in order to meet the learning outcomes through our learning support and therapy teams, including English as an Additional Language.
Pathway 2 – This pathway also follows the mainstream curriculum but provides a greater level of support due to a higher level of need. Class sizes are smaller, with 8-10 students, and a teacher and teaching assistant.
Pathway 3 – Pathway 3 provides the highest level of support with an individualized curriculum and support program for students with significant learning and/or social needs. The class size is 8 students and the ratio of adults to students is increased.
More details about the learning pathways at DCIS cab be found here.
