Established in 1971, the International School of Madrid (ISM) is an inclusive, family school offering a British curriculum to children aged 2 to 18.

The school is located in the Charmartín neighbourhood in the centre of Madrid.
CURRICULUM / AGES (GRADES)
The school follows the English National Curriculum throughout, including the official examinations: IGCSE at age 16 and A-level at age 18. In addition students take lessons in the subjects of Spanish Lengua y Literatura and Cultura Española which allows them to validate their studies with the Spanish system.
Pre-School from 20 months to 2 years – British Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
Early Years from 3 to 5 years of age – British Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
Primary School from 5 to 11 years of age – English National Curriculum. At the end of Year 6 pupils take the National Curriculum Tests (SATs).
Secondary School from 11 to 16 years of age – English National Curriculum plus Spanish language and humanities according to local Spanish requirements. At the end of Year 11 students take the the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations.
Sixth Form from 17 to 18 years of age – Advance Levels (A-Levels).
