INTRODUCTION TO The ISS International SchoolThe ISS International School is one of the longest-established three-program IB international schools in Singapore, which offers a holistic and inclusive education for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
LOCATION / CAMPUSThe school is located along Preston Road and Depot Road in the Alexandra neighbourhood of Singapore.
CURRICULUM / AGES (GRADES)ISS follows the three IB programs: complete IB Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma Programmes according to the structure described below:
PRIMARY SCHOOL
– Kindergarten (K1 and K2): 4 to 6 years old
Curriculum: IB Primary Years Programme (IB PYP)
– Grades 1-5 (PYP K-5): 6 to 11 years old
Curriculum: IB Primary Years Programme (IB PYP)
HIGH SCHOOL
– Grades 6-10 (MYP 1-5): 11 to 16 years old
Curriculum: IB Middle Years Programme (IB MYP)
– Grades 11-12 (IB DP/HSD 1-2): 16 to 18 years old
Curriculum: IB Diploma Programme (IB DP) or High School Diploma (HSD), as an alternative for students not requiring or not suited to the DP.
LANGUAGESLanguage of Instruction: English.
Extra Languages: ISS offers a Mother Tongue program that begins in High School and allows students to keep learning in their mother tongue.
Language Support: ESL (English as a Second Language) support is provided across Primary and High School.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIESThe school offers various Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) and After School Activities (ASAs), from sports like volleyball and football to art courses, Music Club, Science Club, and other activities.
In High School, the Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) program is the heart of the Creativity, Activity and Service requirement for all ISS students. Students have a wide variety of activities to choose from.
