INTRODUCTION TO Jerudong International School
Established in 1997, Jerudong International School is a British International School in Brunei that offers:
– Day School for students from 2 years of age to 18, and
– Boarding School for students from 10 years of age to 18.
LOCATION / CAMPUS
The school facilities are located within a 120-acre campus in the tiny nation of Brunei, on the north coast of Borneo, Southeast Asia.
CURRICULUM / AGES (GRADES)
Jerudong International School offers a British International curriculum, which includes the following programmes:
Junior School (from 1 to 10 years of age)
Junior School includes Nursery, Kindergarten, Reception, and Years 1-6 as follows:
– the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum from Nursery to Reception, and
– the UK Curriculum in Years 1-6.
Senior School (from 11 to 18 years of age)
– In Years 10 and 11 (14 to 16 year-olds), students study a two-year course: the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) programme, which culminates in a set of externally assessed examinations at the end of Year 11.
– In Years 12 and 13, the pre-university years, students can choose between three pathways:
1. The British-based Advanced Levels (A Levels), a two-year internationally recognised programme.
2. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB Diploma).
3. The International BTEC Level 3 Creative Media. Since August 2022, Jerudong International School has offered this course, which includes film-making, sound recording, publishing, and web design. It is 100% internally assessed by the school’s Academic Team.
