Amazing facilities and plenty of activities and sports the students could choose. However, we did not have such a great experience with the IB Diploma and the academic level the school is providing.

Overall a friendly and warm school with great facilities, my children miss SAIS and so do I.
The only downside was the academic results which can be improved.

Our 2 children are enrolled at SAIS for 7 years. The school opened in 2009 in Singapore. The Woodleigh campus opened in 2012 when we joined – and a new one for younger children opened a few years ago – the EAL, Early Leaning Village.
I can only give an input for Woodleigh : The school is beautiful and very upscale in terms of infrastructures. Our children are very happy studying and we trust their academic strength.
As TCK our children are challenged every single day – SAIS brings a growing maturity to our children , and knowlege as well as confidence with their unique teaching approach.
As in every school, there are some downs too – school fees and administrative follow-up can be a bit challenging as in every large organisation. Turn over is the same than in Singapore in general – on the students, teachers and reps side too.
We would definitely recommend SAIS on short or longer term – as the full family is overall very happy with the outcome so far!

Singapore has great schools. Stamford American International School is one of them. We have experience from the middle school. I think secondary school should be separated from the elementary school in this platform that oddly buts them together. Surely use of technology, academic approach, requirements for teachers, language studies and much more differer in comparison to elementary school.
Anyhow, we feel our children are well challenged, have good teachers, have really good tools at use, enjoy fresh campus facilities, have large variety of afterschool activities and good sport teams to join. Sport facilities are great, too.
Too structured environment can kill creativity and innovativeness. SAIS supports students own thinking and self expression.

My kids have attended SAIS for 3 years now, they are in grade 5 and KG2 and they are really happy.
Facilities are fantastic, and the options for sports and Extra Curricular activities are also very good.
I miss however a higher academic level and better second language program under grade 6.
Also I should add that having the school for the little ones in a totally different location is not really convenient.

SAIS is a good and friendly school, despite the size and the two campuses. A second campus was open in 2016, and it complicated things to parents with kids in both campuses.
Facilities are fantastic, and the options for sports and activities are also fantastic.
I miss however a higher academic level and additional foreign language offered.

I fully agree with the review from LSW although I must say that during this changing period of our lives, it’s a really convenient school for our kids with their support programme
Also I should add that having the school for the little ones in a totally different location is not eady for families with siblings. Overall, it’s a good school and our child is happy which is the most important.

My kids are very happy! We love the opportunities that they have to explore their capabilities.
I would only like that they could learn more languages not only like mother tongue.
And I think they need to improve on discipline because there are kids with very bad behavior, and I know that this needs to be learned at home, but better discipline rules could help.

We were fooled by the facilities and location. This is NOT an American school. The only thing American about the school is having Thanksgiving off in November. My children attended elementary school at SAIS for two years and it was so bad, we made the hard decision to switch schools for our last year in Singapore. The level of education is at least one year behind our public school in Texas. There is little to no science in elementary school. The school uses Units of Inquiry and only 4 weeks of the year were spent on science… however there is no science lab. No spelling, no sight words. The iPads are attached to the students and are overused in every subject. Students need paper and pencil. The library is limited to young readers. If you have an advanced reader, they quickly outgrow the elementary library. The biggest issue is the school being for profit. This means the school cares more about making money than it does about what is best for the child. Corners are cut everywhere possible. Lesser paid teachers means higher turnover and inexperienced teachers. The school receives more money for children who are not proficient in English and require additional services for ELA. Unfortunately too many kids who barely understand English are in each classroom, coupled with too many disciplinary issues (discipline accountability on the report card would make a huge difference), makes it hard for teachers to adequately teach. There are a few great teachers at SAIS, unfortunately there is just as many who shouldn’t be teaching. Instead of being a school of excellence, your experience is very teacher dependent and thus can be great or disastrous. The school has a great sports program, music and drama program IF your kid is talented. They do not allow the shy kid to participate in the play to overcome their fears or encourage a kid to learn a new sport or allow every student to perform in recitals.

It is an excellent school. The campus is brand new with amazing facilities. The classrooms and laboratories have very modern equipment. There are very good learning support teachers. It offers a lot of extra-curricular activities. The sports programme and the instrumental music programme are very good. The school provides the students with iPads or laptops so that they get familiar with technology. My children have made friends from many nationalities and have learned to get along and respect diverse cultures. This school was a great support for my children when we moved to Singapore.

My kids have attended SAIS for 4 years now. I have two kids and they have been through Nursery, Kindergarten and Elementary.
Both my kids have had fantastic teachers from different nationalities.
The Spanish Language program is very solid. I can see the improvement in both my kids since they joined the program.
The sports facilities and the variety of Extra Curricular activities are a real plus for us. I can choose from a variety of options and they never get bored. Sports and Musical activities at SAIS are of a high standard.
Overall, a great experience for the whole family.

The campus and the facilities are simply amazing. The curriculum is strong and very dynamic fostering kids to think by themselves, being principle and respectful global citizens kids.
The range of after school activities is so wide and diverse , from academic support, sports, computing, science, reading, cooking, drama, yoga, origami, chess … etc. every thing is there!
The bilingual program, half english and half mandarin is working very well for my kids, specially the comprehension, which to me is the most important.
The use of new technologies increases as they grow. Something that I miss sometimes is “old school homework”, in a regular notebook.
This is our 4th year in the school and both of my kids go very happy every morning.

Amazing campus, facilities, and use of technology. Strong academic curriculum, love that the school caters to both IB, and AP. I believe this allows the students to choose as they mature and explore academically!!
While at Stamford my daughter participated in a pilot program with Google where she got to test virtual reality goggles to perform nuclear fusion of atoms in science class.
What I was not impressed with was the curriculum advertised versus what is being taught. The school advertised project AERO, which is an American based INTEGRATED math curriculum, however the math offered was not integrated, i.e course selections were PreAlgebra, Algebra1 and 2, GeoTrig, etc.

We have been in several Countries and International Schools and SAIS is indeed second to none. Our daughter has developed wonderfully here and is very happy to go to school every day. The only arera where the school needs to seriously improve is in the food. It is not up to the standards in terms of quality and variety.
