INTRODUCTION TO St. Joseph’s Institution International
St Joseph’s Institution International is a Lasallian Catholic School, a private international school in Singapore, which offers the British curriculum (International Primary Curriculum), IGCSE examinations, and IB Diploma for students aged 4 to 18.
LOCATION / CAMPUS
The school is located at the centre of Singapore, in the green belt adjacent to the MacRitchie Reservoir Park, Singapore’s oldest reservoir. It is easily accessible by public transport and car.
CURRICULUM / AGES (GRADES)
St Joseph’s Institution International includes:
– The Elementary School for children from Prep 1 (Aged 4) to Grade 6 (Aged 12). The school follows the
International Primary Curriculum (IPC) for Humanities and Science, the Singapore Mathematics programme, and a combination of the English National Curriculum and the American System for Language Arts.
– The High School for children from Grade 7 to Grade 12. The school offers the IGCSE programme for Grades 7 to 10 and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for Grades 11 and 12.
LANGUAGES
Language of Instruction: English.
Extra Languages: Chinese, Tamil, and Hindi. Chinese is offered to all students in Elementary as a compulsory subject. Spanish has been added recently as an option for Upper Elementary Students and High School.
Language Support: YES. The school offers High School English as an Additional Language (EAL) for students whose English is not their first language and who require additional support; and English Language Acquisition (ELA) Programme for those students whose English language proficiency is not up to the required standard.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
St. Joseph’s learning programme has four pillars: Academic; Outdoor Education; Service Learning; and Co-Curricular Activities. At Elementary School, the school offers a wide variety of activities: Sports, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Academics, Environmental, ICT, and more. It also offers Catechism Classes across all grades.
High School has many activities and clubs, and all students are encouraged to participate in at least one extra-curricular creative activity. Those activities include Clubs (some of them initiated by the students themselves), Music, Drams & Arts, Sports, Service Learning Programmes (such as Friends of the Zoo or Conservation Matters), and General Activities (Coding, Gardening, and Debate among others).

ADMISSION
Enrolment period: We will accept applications up to 2 years (24 months) in advance of the date of enrolment. We strongly advise early applications as we will close the Admissions Pool to new applicants of Grades, where we have received many applications.
Waiting list: NO.
Admission criteria: The Admissions Office will contact parents to arrange a suitable time to assess the student. Prep 1 to Grade 1 will undertake an observation assessment, and Grade 2 to Grade 6 a computerised and written assessment and interview. From grade 7 onwards will take an Admissions Test and Interview.
