INTRODUCTION TO XCL American Academy
XCL American Academy is a new American international school in Singapore that offers an affordable and rigorous American international program for students aged 2 to 14 years old.
LOCATION / CAMPUS
In this first year of the school, students at XCL American Academy will occupy a dedicated area within the XCL World Academy (XWA) premises. The school is located in Yishun, a residential neighbourhood in the northeastern corner of Singapore, approximately a 20-minute drive from downtown.
A new, purpose-designed campus is under construction to start in August 2023, located just next door to XCL World Academy (XWA).
CURRICULUM / AGES (GRADES)
XCL American Academy follows the AERO Curriculum and the Common Core standards issued by the United States Department of Education. In addition, the school has adopted recognized curriculum programs such as the Everyday Math program developed by the University of Chicago or Discovery Works for Science.
Nursery Program or the youngest learners aged 2-3.
Kindergarten includes the Early Childhood program (Pre-Kindergarten to Kindergarten 2) for students aged 3-6.
Elementary School includes Grades 1 to 5 for students aged 6-11.
Middle School includes Grades 6 to 8 for students aged 11-14.
LANGUAGES
Language of Instruction: English.
Extra Languages: The school offers a Mandarin bilingual program designed for non-native Mandarin speakers and no prior knowledge of the language is required.
Language Support: The school also offers support for non-native English language speakers
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
The School offers a broad selection of Extracurricular Activities (ECAs), including competitive and non-competitive sports, music, art, drama and dance, academic extensions, coding/STEM activities, and others.
